Privacy
Short version: your brewery is yours. We don't run accounts, we don't see your recipes or brews, and this website doesn't track you. Last updated October 15, 2026.
The app
- Your brewery stays on your device. Recipes, brews, readings, notes and photos are stored in your browser on your device. We have no copy.
- Sync goes to your own cloud. If you turn on sync, the app writes to your own Google Drive, OneDrive or Dropbox, using permission you grant to that provider. It goes straight there, not through us.
- Hydrometer sources are yours. Connected sources (a Tilt's Google Sheet, Home Assistant, a feed you publish) are read directly by the app on your device.
- AI is off until you turn it on. When you ask the Brewmaster something or read a photo, the app sends that request, with the brewing records it needs, to the AI you chose: OpenAI or Anthropic with your own key, a model on your own computer, or Gristmark AI credits. With credits, the request passes through our small relay to OpenAI and isn't stored or logged by us; OpenAI is asked not to store it. We count credits against a scrambled (hashed) form of your credit key, never the key itself.
- Purchases go through Lemon Squeezy. When you buy a licence or credits, Lemon Squeezy handles checkout, payment, tax and receipts, under its own privacy policy. The app checks your licence key with Lemon Squeezy now and then.
This website
- No analytics, no ads, no tracking cookies.
- If you join the waitlist, we keep your email address, what you asked for (launch news, being considered for the beta), when you joined, and the country Cloudflare reports for your connection. We use it only to send Gristmark news and beta invitations.
- The site and the waitlist are hosted on Cloudflare. Cloudflare processes the usual connection data (such as IP addresses) to deliver and protect the site.
- We never sell or share the waitlist.
